Puerto Rico National Coat-of-Arms used more and more by pro-Sovereignty
groups and individuals. There are already flags with the emblem used during
protests, patriotic events, etc.

The explanations of the National Coat-of-Arms of Puerto Rico are:
The Pitirre (Grey Kingbird) symbolizes the Puerto Rican Nation The Taino Sun
Shield (Yukiyú) represents the Taino heritage Sovereign Motto:
Patria-Justicia-Libertad (The Motto of the Grito de Lares) Broken Chains: the
left chain represents the Abolition of Slavery in 1873 and the right chain
represents the struggle against colonialism (Spanish and American) The Cross:
recognition of the importance of the Christian faith in Puerto Rican culture The
Machete: represents agriculture, national strength, and resistance. The Coffee
Branch symbolizes peace and the importance of coffee in Puerto Rican culture and
the economy.
The National Motto: Guákia Baná -Guákia Gualí Borikén (We are Great - We are the
Sons & Daughters of Borinquen) in the Taino language.
