First mentioned in 1280; land under cultivation 64%; forests 27%; River Rega crisscrosses the commune - nice trail along the river.
Arms and flag adopted on May 17, 2005 (resolution # XXIII/175/2005).
"Arms: on a silver shield a red defensive tower with open gate and
one window and between two branches of dogwood with two leaves and four
dogberries each.
Flag: composed of three bands: white-red-white. The middle, red band
is double the width of the white ones.
Ratio of the flag is 5:8.
The ceremonial flag adds the Arms in the middle of the red band."
