The institution

Universidad de Lima (Ulima), established by Supreme Decree No. 23 enacted on 25 April 1962, was founded by Asociación Civil Prodies (Promoción del Desarrollo Industrial a través de la Educación Superior) [Civil Association for the Promotion of Industrial Development through Higher Education], an association composed of university professors and representatives of trade and industry. The Monterrico campus was inaugurated on 27 August 1966; a secondary campus was subsequently established in Mayorazgo (Ate district).

Ulima is composed of 5 Faculties: Business and Economy, Communication, Law, Engineering and Architecture, and Psychology.
