Universidad ESAN originates in ESAN, established in 1963 under the aegis of
Stanford University, as the first Spanish-speaking School of Commerce. The first
Internet connection in Peru was established in 1981 at the Monterricao campus of
ESAN; in 1991, ESAN sent the first international Peruvian email.
