Overview

Akmene (not to be confused with Akmene District which uses the flag of Naujoji Akmene) - on a silver field with a green bordure on the free edges five arrows two over three, heads of arrows silver, shafts tenne, fleches blue. Flag proportions 1:1, fringe is blue, finial is a silver arrow head with cap and inscription "PRO LIBERTATE" ("For freedom" in Latin), and golden bands. The charge is a 5 times multiplied charge of arms granted in 1792, and the motto is replaced from the shaft of the arrow to the  finial. The arms should symbolize readiness to defend freedom with weapons, as on many arms of Lithuanian border towns, granted in late 18th century.

Akmene Eldership (Akmenes seniunija) is one of six elderships in Akmene District. Administrative center is the Town of Akmene. The flag is in the colors of the coat of arms, but instead of one arrow, 5 arrows are depicted on the canvas: 2 are up, 3 are low. The free edges are circled with a wide green ribbon, the fringe is azure. The ratio of height and length is 1:1. Coat of arms: in a silver field, a rising brown bow arrow with a silver tip and azure plumage, on the arrow there is a Latin inscription: "Pro Libertate" (For Freedom). The tip of the shield is green. Approved by the Decree of the Presidium of the Seimas of Lithuania No. I-2883 of September 16, 1992. Author of symbols: Arvydas Kazhdailis. The coat of arms was granted by Privilege No. 69 of King Stanislaw August of June 13, 1792, which is described as "an arrow rising upwards with the inscription Pro Libertate on it". Modern version was re-adopted with the flag.
