The city emblem was adopted on Apr 1st 2004 by Ordinance No 2 but there is no flag law. The white flag has a blue, a green and an orange three color city emblem in the center. The city emblem is a stylized S of Shikokuchuo. The two curved lines symbolize an expressway. The blue color stands for the sea, the green color for the mountains, the orange color for the city. It represents a harmony with nature and the city.
