The Civil Guard is a auxilliary volunteers force operated by the Community and Civil Guard Wing of Israel Police. Their flag is still in use but it is replaced nowadays by a new logo so it will represent the Community and Civil Guard Wing as whole and not only the Civil Guard itself.

Community and Civil Guard Wing of Israel Police was established in 1999 and unite the former Community Policing Unit of the GHQ (est. 1995) and the Civil Guard (est. 1974).
The wing emblem can be seen at www.police.gov.il.
The Civil Guard was established as as auxillary force in order to aid th police against. The volunteers had very limited authority while in duty and were used in only in petrolling their nighbourhoods. However, during the 1980s, the police start to use those units also in crime prevention and traffic control. This brought to a chnge in the legislation and the establishements of "special units" whose volunteers had almost full police authority while in duty. Today there are "special units" in almost all police aspects.
