Pirate Party (Finnish: Piraattipuolue, Swedish: Piratpartiet) is
modelled after the same-named Swedish party. Founded
in 2008, it was registered the next year. Having failed to gain
elected representation in the two consecutive parliamentary elections,
it was de-registered in 2015, but managed to collect enough supporter
cards to be re-registered in 2016. However, after having failed to win
seats in the next two parliamentary elections, it was de-registered
again in 2023. [1]

Flag of the Pirate Party is generally the same as that of its Swedish namesake:
a large white disk with a narrow black border, charged with a black sail on the mast, shaped so as to
resemble letter P, all on a purple field. The photos available online [2–6] suggest a bit lighter
shade of purple than the one used by the Swedish party.

The flag for the LGBT-related events has a six-colored rainbow field
with wavy stripes which have two arcs, red stripe at the top, charged
with the device from the general-use flag within a wide ring in
rainbow colors arranged diagonally, its segments being rotated
counter-clockwise related to the direction of the field partition
lines; the ring is separated from the device and the field by white
fimbriations [2–6]. This is the same flag as the one frequently used
in Germany by the Queerates, the members of the
German Pirate Party attending the LGBT-related events.
The two flags are often used together. The photos of such use [2–6]
additionally suggest the lighter shade of purple on the general-use
flag, as it typically looks lighter than on the LGBT-related flag.
