Presentation of Bobadilla del Campo

The municipality of Bobadilla del Campo (335 inhabitants in 2009; 3,301 ha) is located in the extreme north of Valladolid Province, on the border with Ávila Province, 60 km from Valladolid.
Bobadilla was mentioned for the first time in 1256, as Bovadiella, a parish depending of the abbey of Medina del Campo; in 1587, the village had 130 inhabitants. In 1785, Bobadilla belonged to the Tierra del Campo, originally granted in 1347 by King Alfonso XI to his chamberlain Diego Fernández de Medina, and then ruled by the Count of Grajal.
