The coat of arms was adopted by Ayuntamiento on 03.05.1988, and the flag by the General Directorate of Local Administration on 20.12.2021.
Description: "Shield divided per fess. First, azure, a silver mount. Second, gules, a fountain flowing with silver and azure waters, accompanied by two silver sprigs. Crest: Closed Royal Crown."
Meaning: The mountain reminds us that the town is located on the slopes of the Sierra Nevada. The fountain alludes to the fame of its mineral-medicinal waters. The scimitars represent the battles between Muslims and Christians. Note the great similarity of this coat of arms to that of the neighboring town of Bubión .
Description: "Rectangular cloth or flag with proportions 3:2 (length by width), formed by three horizontal stripes, the upper one blue, the middle one white and the lower one green. In the center, the Municipal Heraldic Shield."
NOTE: The blue stripe in Wikipedia's image is much darker than the image in Simbolos de Granada.
