For the
current flag from 2016, the original coat of arms was set in a white flag
(eg-g-ban2.gif attached). The symbolism refers to the economic importance of the
governorate as an important location for industry, agriculture (grain, tobacco
cultivation) and traffic.

In the first flag from 2006, the coat of arms was redesigned in color and a
cigar replaced the ear of corn and was placed in a white circle on the green
flag.

The coat of arms, which in this case was awarded when the governorate was
founded, shows a black bridge over blue water, above an industrial plant and a
grain ear. Under the water the name in Arabic script.
