Overview

The parish of Sixto Durán Ballén was established on 1 October 1997. The parish was named for the architect Sixto Durán Ballén (1921-2016) - the parish's name is sometimes written Arq. Sixto Durán Ballén, while it appears to be locally known as SDB - Mayor of Quito (1970-1978) and President of the Republic of Ecuador (1992-1996).
