Dänischenhagen Municipal Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
The shield is divided per chevron. All charges are silver (= white). Above right are three oak leaves in a red field, above left is a millstone also in a red field. Below central is the tower of a church in a blue field. The blue field is separated from the red ones by a silver (= white) rope.
Meaning:
Dänischenhagen was first mentioned as seat of a parish without name. The parish church probably had been built about 1250. In 1318 the bishop mentioned the village by telling the name. The church tower belongs to the local parish church. A more than 100 years old oak stands in the centre of the municipality, symbolized by the leaves. The millstone is representing the importance of agriculture, especially the numerous mills in the municipality. The rope is alluding to the meanwhile died out craft of a ropemaker.
