Coat of Arms

Shield Argent, a bar wavy Azure, issuant from bar a throughout bridge Gules masoned Sable and having three arches, all between three 6-point stars Gules, a pair in chief ordered per fess, the third in base.
Meaning:
The arms were newly devised as no old arms or seals of the municipality were known. The bridge is symbolising the fact that the municipality is located on both banks of the Mümling creek. The stars are derived from the arms of the Counts of Erbach, who ruled the area for many centuries. The historical bridge was destroyed after WWII and replaced by a larger modern bridge. The arms were approved in 1934 with a swastika between the two stars in chief. This was removed in 1945 and the arms have not changed since.
