Dettenheim Coat of Arms

Shield Azure, a horseshoe Argent beneath an enhanced bar wavy Argent.
Meaning:
The municipality consists of Liedolsheim and Rußheim, which merged in 1975 and adopted the name of the former Dettenheim village, which had been relinquished in 1812 due to permanent floodings caused by the Rhine. The bar wavy is representing the Rhine. The horseshoe had been a common local symbol of Liedolsheim and Rußheim and the old Dettenheim as well and was used by them on local seals in the 19th century and in their municipal arms, adopted in 1901. The tinctures of those municipalities also had been silver and blue, alluding to the Bishopric of Speyer
