Overview

Bojayá is a municipality in the Chocó Department. Administrative center is in Bellavista. It was established by decree no. 13 of 12 December 1960. Bojayá became known worldwide after the "Bojayá massacre" of 2 May 2002 in which fighting between two rival groups resulted the death of 119 civilians that were hiding in local church (for further reading see wikipedia).
Bojayá flag is horizontal blue over green with white canton with 16 stars (15 in circle and a larger one in the center). The image at the municipal web site seems to be mirrored.
