It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain purple field.

Shield Or, two bunches of three corn cobs Gules each, leaved Vert, both ordered per fess, in chief a branch of vine Vert with three grapevines fruited Purpure, in base a bar wavy Azure charged with a barrulet wavy Argent. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "FREGUESIA DE CHAMUSCA"

Shield Argent, a pine eradicated Vert flanked by a rounded cross patty Gules at dexter and a cross patty Gules charged with a Greek cross Argent at sinister, in base three barrulets wavy Azure. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "PINHEIRO GRANDE" 
Meaning:
The pine is a canting element. The crosses refer to the Orders of the Templars and of the Knights of Christ. The barrulets wavy are symbolizing riches of water.
