It is a plain white flag divided by a thin dark-blue saltire. The flag has a border of alternating blue and white stripes, but not at the hoist.
In the white fields are dark blue capital letters "M"(top), "R"(hoist),
"G" (fly) and "1898" (bottom). The flag has a white canton completely superimposing the saltires upper hoist bar. In the canton are red figures of the city's coat of arms.
