Saint-Joseph-de-Coleraine is a town within the Municipalité régionale de comté des Appalaches in Québec. Its flag has a white field with the
coat of arms in the middle.
The carved coat of
arms on the wall is made of unpainted wood but the accompanying link
explains the content of the shield:

The shield is divided dexter black and sinister red. A silver cross occupies
the center charged with a red sword. To the canton are silver crossed pickaxes
and to the lower sinister, a golden dolphin. The shield is surrounded by a wreath of green maple leaves, something extremely common with
Quebec municipalities' arms.

The logo is described:
Saint-Joseph-de-Coleraine is a peaceful place located “in the heart of the lakes and mountains,” as its slogan indicates. This modernized image reinforces our municipality’s identity, demonstrating its capacity for innovation and its desire to ensure progressive and sustainable development for its citizens. The design themes were chosen based on the following physical elements:
The mountains: Located in the Appalachian region, they are an integral part of our landscape. Their curved and refined forms suggest the profile of a heart, aptly representing the spirit of our citizens;
The trees: Deciduous or coniferous, majestic and essential, sources of recreation and outdoor activities, they adorn an environment of exceptional quality.
The fern: It is inextricably linked to the origin of the name “Coleraine,” derived from “Cuil Rathain,” a Gaelic expression meaning “fern corner.” Moreover, the Ecological Reserve is home to two rare species: the bushy aspidotus and the maidenhair fern of the Green Mountains.
Water: The five blue waves represent the main lakes within its territory.
The design: This dynamic design inspires dreams and instills tranquility while exuding a vibrant energy that perfectly illustrates the dynamic and welcoming character of the people of Coleraine and their desire to build the future together.
