Estb: 1990. Location: [HQ] 411 Walnut Street, Green Cove Springs.
Burgee: Pennant circa 5:8 (web image). White field charged with the blue letters MTOA on a white panel, on the shell of a green turtle (facing hoist), and the blue letters MTOA vertically next to the hoist.
"When this group started, most of our members owned Marine Traders and MTOA meant Marine TRADER Owners Association. However, "time marches on", and currently, most of our members own other types of trawlers. . . . To reflect this change, our Board of Directors, with the overwhelming support of our members, voted to change our name to the Marine Trawler Owners Association. . . . Our not-for-profit, member operated boating club was founded in 1990 by two trawler owners, Captains Mike Creedon and Pete Donnelly. [who had purchased Marine Traders] . . . Our Regional groups (New England, Great Lakes, West Coast, Northern Chesapeake, Southern Chesapeake, North Carolina, Northeast Florida and West Coast Florida) hold local gatherings and cruises throughout the year.”
