A U.S. flag with 19 stars, but only 9 stripes (missing stripes possibly
removed by souvenir collectors). From the source article: "19-star flags were
authorized for use for one year, from December 1816 to December 1817."
The article claimed that this flag "once flew on America’s first battleship, the USS Constitution ["Old Ironsides"] .... The flag is owned by former US presidential candidate H. Ross Perot, who received it as an 80th birthday gift from his son, Ross Perot Jr, in 2010..... It measures 16-feet-8-inches wide by 10-feet-6-inches high and has nine stripes. The hoist is missing; there are some tears, losses and discoloration to stars, missing stripes, patches, as well as scattered holes or tears. Portions of this ensign appear to have been removed, possibly by Nineteenth Century souvenir hunters."
Today (Feb. 10, 2026) I spoke with an official at the Perot Museum in Dallas, TX, who confirmed that the museum does indeed possess this flag, but it is not on public display.

A 19-star American flag with stars in a "Starburst Medallion" pattern;
c. Dec. 1816 - Dec. 1817?, or maybe something created as a commemorative flag
far later during the 1876 U.S. Centennial.
