Description

Caterpillar Inc. is the world’s leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, off-highway diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives. It was established on April 15, 1925 in in Wisconsin, U.S, based in Peoria, Illinois and currently headquartered in Irving, Texas. The name “Caterpillar” came from a tractor, which, because of its tracks, looked like a caterpillar crawling on the ground.

The current flag is a white horizontal background with the 1989 logo version in the middle featuring the company's name in Helvetica font type in black, followed by the ® trademark symbol, plus the pyramid in yellow below the letter "A".
