ERÜ (website), named for emblematic Mt. Erciyes, was established in 1978 as Kayseri University. Originally composed of the Gevher Nesibe School of Medicine (est. in 1968 as a an affiliate of Hacettepe University in Ankara) and of the Kayseri Faculty of Business Administration (est. 1977) and renamed to its present name in 1982, is composed of 19 Faculties, 7 Institutes, 2 Vocational Schools, 42 Research Centers, and a Research Hospital.
The flag of ERÜ (photo, photo, photo, photo, photo, photo) is white with the university's emblem.
