The logo, which received 40% of the votes in a public election, was unveiled in March 2021.
Emphasis is put on religious buildings, which are the main components of Mardin's skyline. The Cut Slice Dome is Mardin's most striking landmark.
The logo highlights details of Kufic writing on Ulucami minaret and the significance of the town's stone-cutters. Interculturality is symbolized by cross-shaped interlaced elements.
