It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain yellow field.

Shield Vert, two flails Argent crossed per saltire, in chief a grapevine Purpure leaved Argent, in base starting from dexter side a rice ear, a corn cob and a wheat ear, all Or and tied Gules in base. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "GESTEIRA - SOURE".

Gesteira Commune was one of the pre-2013 communes of Soure Municipality; it had 974 inhabitants in 2011 and covered 13.3 km².

Shield Gules, a rice ear Or and an olive branch of the Same fruited sable, both tied Argent per saltire, in chief two swords Argent crossed per saltire, in base a throughout bridge Argent masoned sable. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "BRUNHÓS".
