It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain yellow  field.

Shield Gules, an embattled tower Argent, masoned Sable with port and windows Sable, flanked by two millstones Argent, in base a grapevine Or leafed Argent. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll (Bénard Guedes style) with inscription in black capitals  "TRAVANCA - AMARANTE"".

Travanca Commune is one of the 26 communes of Amarante Municipality; it had 2278 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 8.7 km².
