Shield Argent two pines eradicated Vert fruited Or, on central chief a cogwheel Gules flanked by two grape bunches Or leafed Vert, on base two barrulets wavy Azure. Mural crown Argent with five visible towers (city rank) and short white scroll, in Bénard Guedes style, with inscription in black upper case letters "ÁGUEDA".
Meaning:
The waves in base are representing Águeda River.

Presentation of Águeda

Águeda is a city that belongs to the district of Aveiro (old province of Beira Litoral). It had 47 729 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 335,27 km².
The Municipality of Águeda is one of 19 municipalities in the District of Aveiro. It has municipal rights since 1834 and gained city status in 1985. The current symbols were adopted by the Municipal Assembly on 14 March 1990.
