Sas van Gent (former) municipality

The municipality of Sas van Gent consisted of Sas van Gent (seat), Westdorpe, Philippine and Zandstraat. Area: 6.379 ha., inhabitants: (1 Jan 2002) 8.590. The municipality was formed in 1970 by the merger of Sas van Gent, Westdorpe, and Philippine. It was abolished 1 Jan 2003 by the merger of Sas van Gent, Axel, and Terneuzen to the new municipality of Terneuzen.
