The town emblem was adopted on Jan 1st 1962 but there is no flag law. The green flag has a yellow town emblem in the center. The town emblem is a stylized hiragana しんとみ Shintomi. The arrowhead symbolizes an unlimited advance outwards. It represents the powerful affiliation by the merger of the two former villages.
