Shield Sable, two fleur-de-lis Or with embowed stems issuant from a coupeaux Vert.
Meaning:
Traunstein was finally acquired by Bayern in 1273 and gained city rights in 1311. There are prints of a greater seal (1374) and a lesser seal (since 1383), basically displaying the current pattern. The triplemount is canting for a stone, (German: Stein). The meaning of the fleur-de-lis is unknown.
