Description of current flag:
The flag's ratio is 3:5. It is a blue-yellow-blue horizontal triband with ratio of stripes approx. 1:2:1. The coat of arms is in the centre of the flag within the central stripe.

It is a blue-yellow vertical bicolour. The coat of arms is shifted to the top within the central stripe. Above the shield is a white scroll with inscription in black serifed initials "EDEMISSEN".

Description of coat of arms:
Shield Azure; a linden Or with 14 leaves; base Or charged with a lion passant Azure, armed and tongued Gules.
Meaning:
The number of leaves is representing the 14 villages forming the municipality. Lion and colours are symbolising hat the municipality belonged to the Duchy of Braunschweig-Lüneburg for centuries. The draft of the arms was made by Wilhelm Krieg.
The arms were approved on 2 April 1975 by district governor (Regierungspräsident) of Hildesheim.
