Shield Azure, a Luther rose in an annulet Or, base Argent a scallop Gules.
Meaning:
A Luther rose is white and has a red heart charged with a black cross in its centre. The rose is symbolising the great importance of the municipality for the Lutheran world. It is seat of a Lutheran University, a mission centre, museum, a seminary and a mother house of deaconesses.	The scallop is taken from the arms of the Barons of Eyb, who played an important role in the local history since 1518.
