The flag and arms of Unićo da Serra are prescribed by Municipal Law No. 74 
promulgated on 10 June 1994.
Article 2.
The flag shall have for 
central elements the coat of arms, whose heraldic meaning is described in 
Article 4 of this Law. Three green, red and blue stripes cross it, running from 
the lower left canton to the upper right canton, without interfering with the 
central elements. Green and red represents the Italian colonization, which was 
significant and decisive in the region, while blue represents the vastness of 
the ocean, which carried the creams and hopes of the first colonists heading to 
the New World, being also the connection between the continents. The arrangement 
of the stripes indicates the municipality's dynamism and ascending trajectory, 
of its economy and culture, with the firm willingness to obtain ever increasing 
achievements.
Article 4.
The coat of arms of Unićo de Serra has the 
following meaning.
Beneath the shield, in red, appears date "20.03.92", the 
municipality's date of emancipation. The shield is surrounded by a wavy stripe 
whose colors, red, green and white, represent Italian colonization in the 
region. On the sides of this stripe appear maize plants symbolizing the very 
strong agriculture, a vital source of income for the region. Within the shield, 
the central element is the St. Louis Chapel, the municipality's heart, near 
which the seat of Unićo de Serra was established. The chapel also represents 
popular faith and dedication to religion. On the chapel's right appear figs, 
symbolizing the oldest and most traditional fruit cultivation in the region. On 
the chapel's left is a waterfall that highlights the beauty of the natural 
environment. In the background, heights characteristic of the region and a 
rising sun, whose rays bring life, energy and light, alluding to the birth of a 
new municipality. The shield surmounted, according to the principles of heraldry 
by a golden mural crown with three towers, which represent Oeste on the left, 
Pulador on the right, the main tower symbolizing the union of the two 
settlements to form Unićo da Serra, the seat with open gate symbolizing 
progress.
