This flag shows the state map in a green field, with the municipality seal
inside. The city is located in the exact center of the state, is one of the
biggest agrobusiness centers (one of Brazil's biggest producer of corn, cotton
and soybean: 1.5 million metric tons per year). The municipality has good social
indicators, like almost of population literate, high human development index and
high rich per capita (US$ 15,000 per person).
 André Pires Godinho,
12 November 2005
The flag of Lucas de Rio Verde, designed by José Sales Luna de Souza, is
prescribed by Law No. 81, adopted in 1990. The flag is made of a green
rectangle. In the middle is placed a white map of Mato Grosso outlined in
blue, symbolizing peace. In the middle of the map is placed a disc whose
upper half is a sun symbolizing the localization of the municipality in Mato
Grosso and whose lower half a representation of Rio Verde ("Green River") and
green leaves symbolizing agriculture.
Note: The emblem in the middle
of the flag is not the official municipal coat of arms.
