The Tribe

Mazewalli Nation is an organization located in the State of New Mexico. Our members represent the Mesoamerican diaspora that resulted from Spanish colonization efforts, and whose ancestors settled in New Mexico and Southern Colorado. We declare our right to be recognized as indigenous people, and assert our identities as such. Our goal is to develop educational materials in order to help shed light on the often ignored Mesoamerican cultural inheritance of Chicanos living in New Mexico and Southern Colorado.
