Description of the flag

A blue flag with a yellow upright sword centered, the letters R. and I. on either side of the sword, the name arched above, and the incorporation date 1770 on the bottom.

The sword is also depicted on the coat of arms:

Gules a sword palewise argent hilted or. On a red field in a vertical position a silver sword with a gold hilt. The sword symbolizes Barrington’s part in the American Revolution.
