The flag is a dark green field depicting the state of Michigan in the center, with a blue star indicating the township's location in the state. To the right of the star is the sun, and to the left is the Au Sable River. At the top of the flag are three lines of text, which is the township name, and establishment year, as well as "1st Iosco Settlement," as Au Sable was the first European settlement in what would become Iosco County. At the bottom of the flag is the slogan "Where the Great Au Sable River meets Lake Huron"
A photo of the flag was sent by the township administration.
