Agawam is in Hampden County, southwestern Massachusetts. The flag is orange over brown, with a narrow white band between these fields, containing the word AGAWAM. In the canton is the illustration from the town seal - a rural scene of a farmer plowing behind horses, trees and hills in the background.
From the town website:
Location: Southwestern Massachusetts, bordered by Suffield, Connecticut, on the south; Southwick and Westfield on the west; and West Springfield on the north. The Connecticut River separates Agawam from Springfield on the northeast and from Longmeadow on the east. Agawam is 94 miles southwest of Boston; 21 miles north of Hartford, Connecticut; and 131 miles from New York City.Dov Gutterman, 19 November 2002
