About the Flag

It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain yellow field.

Coat of arms

Shield Azure with base wavy of Argent and Azure, issuant from base two watermill wheels Or, in chief a palm frond Or in bend. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll (Bénard Guedes style) with inscription in black capitals "MOLDES".
The palm frond as a collective attribute for martyrs here is probably referring to St. Stephen, the local patron saint.
