The flag was unveiled during the soup festival on Saturday 14 September 2019. The flag was specially designed for Schaarsbergen, a village in the Veluwe. The colors therefore symbolize the following: green stands for the beautiful forests, purple for the beautiful moors and ocher for the sand dunes (with a wink to orange from the Oranje Vereniging Schaarsbergen).
