Number of inhabitants (1 Jan 2003): 23.192; area: 87,45 km². Settlements: Putten (seat), Bijsteren, Diermen, Gerven, Halvinkhuizen, Hell, Hoef, Huinen, Koudhoorn, Krachtighuizen, Steenenkamer, Veenhuizerveld.
Putten is another Veluwe municipality. Its name is derived from 'Putheim' = house near a well.
The deer on the flag is derived from the municipal Coat of Arms.
