The logo of the BAU, originally created in 1960, was re-designed in 2010 for the university's Golden Jubilee. It consists of the symbol of the BAU wordmark and the shield. The shield includes a lighthouse, symbolizing that education is a guidance for students and a beacon of knowledge. The cedar is directly inspired by the cedars of the mountain of Lebanon, and symbolizes eternity, power, and endurance.
The blue color is prescribed as Pantone 288 / RGB 0 75 142, and CMYK 100 80 6 30.

The logo was re-designed by GraphicShop®:
"For the logo uplift we kept on the same elements: the Alexandria lighthouse and the Lebanese cedar. We recreated both elements with lighthouse being an exact copy of the one in Alexandria. We added the rays of light emitted from the lighthouse. They reach the cedar to symbolize the fact that the university was established in Egypt and transmitted its expertise to Lebanon. The typography was studied in both Arabic and English to look similar, modern, and stand time. And the logo works perfectly in one color."
