Maeda Toshiie followed the many battles initiated by OdaNobunaga and rose to the rank of one million goku in Kaga Province. After Hideyoshi's death, he became the guardian of his son Hideyori, and as one of the "Five Grand Elders," he kept Tokugawa Ieyasu in check. The war banner has white background with three Maeda’s Kamon family emblems of plum flower in black. The family emblem is a geometrically patterned plum flower and originates from the belief in Tenmangu shrine in the Mino area.
