Flag of Benquerencia

The flag and arms of Benquerencia, adopted on 16 March 1990 by the Municipal Council and validated on 15 October 1991 by the Assessing Council of Honors and Distinctions of the Government of Extremadura, are prescribed by an Order issued on 5 December 1991 by the Government of Extremadura and published on 24 December 1991 in the official gazette of Extremadura, No. 99, pp. 2,374-2,376 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:

Flag: Quadrangular. Vertically divided red and white, charged in the center with the municipal coat of arms in full colors.
Coat of arms: Per pale, 1. Gules a pillory argent surrounded by two scallops or, 2. Argent, a Cross of St. James gules. The shield surmounted by a Royal crown closed.
