Dampskibselskabet "Norden" was established in 1871 by Mads Christian Holm. That had also been the name of its first steamship in 1872.

Dampskibselskabet "Norden", Peter Brown, followed by P. Brown Jnr & Co., were operators at least, possibly even owners, although they are not mentioned by
Lloyds from the 1960s. Sources usually showed both names but Stewart (1953) has only shown that of Brown.

The company was based in København. P. Brown Jun. & Co. refer my comments for Dampskibselskabet "Norden" for this appears to be their flag. Brown was an operator for other companies as well, which also had their own flags, one of which has been shown under the name of the operator. They go back to 1893, originally as Peter Brown, and sources do show under P. Brown Jnr & Co. a red flag with a centred white initial "B" which would appear to be actually theirs.
