Schwaikheim Coat of Arms

In a red shield are a golden (= yellow) staff of office and a crozier of the same colour. They are crossed per saltire.
The old, regional border stones displayed two prior's staffs, crossed per saltire. They had been the symbol of the monastery of Backnang. Some of the stones displayed very big pommels at the top. As a result the staffs had been misinterpreted as croziers. Thus around 1900 a seal was created displaying two croziers. In 1931 an old, little flag was found in the town hall. Based on the image upon the flag the current pattern was introduced. The staff of office is alluding to the mundane authority while the crozier reminds on the fact that most parts of the village had been clerical dominions. In 1931 also the colours of the monastery of Backnang, red and yellow, were fixed.

The banner was approved on 19 January 1981 by the county administration, published in GABl 349/1982.
