Coat of Arms

Shield Or, a half timber construction Sable called "Wilder Mann" (= savage), bordure Gules charged with 15 crosslets Argent. Blazon says however 15 stars.
Meaning:
Each crosslet is representing one of the 15 villages forming the municipality on 31 December 1971: Bannerod, Bermuthshain, Crainfeld, Grebenhain (incl. Oberwald), Hartmannshain, Heisters, Herchenhain, Ilbeshausen-Hochwaldhausen, Metzlos, Metzlos-Gehaag, Nösberts-Weidmoos, Vaitshain, Volkartshain, Wünschen-Moos and Zahmen.
