Coat of arms

Description of coat of arms:
In a golden (=yellow) field is a green oak tree. The base is a Markian chequered bar.
Meaning:
According to source the oak tree is the so called Hilgenbaum, the municipality's landmark, with stood at a crossing of four main roads until 1902. The Markian bar, symbolizing the counts of Mark, the former rulers, had been added in 1938.
