Apfeltrach Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale, at dexter Gules a crozier or in bend under a palm frond Argent in bend sinister, at sinister Argent above from a fess wavy Azure an apple Gules with leaf and stem Vert.
Meaning:
The tinctures red and white are those of the Bishopric of Augsburg, to which the village historically belonged. The bishopric had possessions in the village since 1063 and acquired more estates and privileges in 1302. Apfeltrach had been seat of a district (German: Amt) of the bishopric, it was transformed to a bailiwick in the 18th century, which existed until 1803. The crozier is alluding to the chapel of Saulengrain, which was incorporated in 1978. It is an attribute of St. Nicolas. The palm frond is the attribute of any martyr and is representing Köngetried and its patron saint St. Stephen.Apple and fess wavy together are canting. The blue fess wavy is representing the rivers Mindel and Westernach.
