Nittenau Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess, above Or two savin juniper trees Vert with connected roots, beneath lozengy of Argent and Azure.
Meaning:
The double tree (Latin: Juniperus sabina) had its characteristic shape on all local seals since 1468 until the end of the 17th century. All coloured paintings since Philipp Apian (1568) however displayed two, sometimes even three deciduous trees with spherical treetops, sometimes with and sometimes without roots. The lozenges are taken from the arms of the Wittelsbach kin. Nittenau gained city rights in 1952.

The banner was approved in 1954 by Minister of Interior of Bayern. The arms were granted in 1468 by Palatine Count Otto II of Mosbach and restored in 1967, probably by the city council.
